What would you give for a bowl of soup?

Romans 7
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Esau gave his birthright for a bowl of soup. Esau was the son of a wealthy man and had no reason to fear hunger much less starvation. By selling his birthright for a bowl of soup Esau let everyone know that he considered the birthright worthless. Are you living as if eternity with God is worthless? Do you trade heaven for extra sleep every Sunday morning? Or maybe you avoid the heavenly so you can continue to spread gossip about coworkers. Or could it be you are more like Esau than you realize each time you trade heaven for that can of soup you didn't scan at the self checkout? It's just my eternal existence at stake - no big deal.....?????
Take some time today to think about the worth of eternity with God and turn in faith to God's Son Jesus Christ so that He can deliver you.
